These mix media bags were inspired by two of my favorite artists...Christy Tomlinson and Jeanne Oliver.  I have taken most of their on-line classes.  Love how these classes inspire and teach so much.

Re-purposed -- Chalkboards

One of my favorite items on Pinterest are Chalkboards.  Whether it's decorative chalkboard lettering or re-purposing items into chalkboards.  Now, when I am at an estate sale, I look for items I can re-purpose into a functional chalkboard.

I just finished a few new Chalkboard projects.

Vintage suitcase with pristine interior.  As I was drawing this house with chalk, my daughter Laura said it was making her sad.  Why?

It's a drawing of our old house in Houston...17330 was our house number.  After 7 years, Laura still misses her old home.

Re-purposed leather briefcase.  You don't see people carry these anymore.  Another drawing of a House with chalk.

This is a huge clipboard.  I painted it with many layers of chalkboard paint then "seasoned" the chalkboard.  I added pegboard circles/flower along with vintage button pins.

Old wooden clothespins (durable not flimsy like some of the newer ones) PAINTED  with chalkboard paint.

I stamped Halloween images and added magnets to  some of the chalkboard clothespins.

Paper Mache house boxes painted with chalkboard paint.  Stamped with chalk paint and sealed.

All of these items will be available at the Checkered Corner this weekend.  The Checkered Corner will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday - September 20 -22, 2013.  Follow this link for more details on times and address.

While Anita and Patrice are taking care of customers at the Checkered Corner, I will be a few blocks away at Amy's, The Pink Attic Cat.

The Pink Attic Cat will be having a special Halloween and Autumn Warehouse Sale directly behind the shop.   The Pink Attic Cat is  located at 2555 W. Alamo Ave, historic downtown Littleton.   Amy asked me to join her at her warehouse sale.  Since we both love Halloween, I will setup my canopy near I will have my items displayed within her warehouse. . I will only have Halloween & Fall Color items at The Pink Attic Cat's sale.

I hope you can come by both the Checkered Corner and Pink Attic Cat's...they are only a few blocks away from each other.

I have had a productive last week.  I am hoping to have some cute felted wool Bat pins along with more felted wool Witch hat pins.  I really love working with mix media and hope to have more mix media projects done by Friday.

Here are my newest items..most just completed over the weekend.

Hand-dyed vintage crochet/lace tablecloths...literally have 3 more in green dye as I type this.
Felted Wool With hats...only have 3 completed

So far my absolute favorite....love working with Mix Media.  Honestly, if these don't sell I will be perfectly fine with that.  I just have to make myself take them to the Pink Attic Cat's Warehouse sale this Saturday.  I think these are 12 x 16 Canvases.

Will have these at The Pink Attic Cat this Saturday...
