More mini embroidery Hoop Pendants and Vintage Embroidered Linens

My goal each week is find a balance to fulfill all my obligations.

This past week,

I worked 2 long days (one night till dawn) on the 6th grade memory book for my son's classmates. A digital book to be printed into 70+copies. Right now, this project is perhaps giving me the most stress. I am making progress (have to repeat that to myself).

I worked one day as a substitute teacher. Art class all day, that was fun!

I started work on my vintage embroidered pin cushions. My current inventory on pin cushions is ZERO! So, I definitely need to work on those. Progress...

This week I finished 28 more mini embroidery hoop pendants using Dandelyne's embroidery hoop pendants. Over the past 2 weeks, I have 85 embroidery pendants (various sizes and shapes) finished! Progress!

I also prepared the vintage embroidered linens with free-form stitching or sewing illustrations for 50 more mini embroidery hoops from Dandelyne. I ordered 50 more mini embroidery hoops. Since they are being shipped from Australia it may take another 2 weeks to arrive (hoping for a bit sooner). Anyway, when they arrive all I will need to do is put them all together. Again, progress!

Packaging of these vintage embroidered hoop pendants is also done! Thanks to my friend Amy of the Pink Attic Cat who has given me 100s of vintage card catalog cards to use in my packaging of the pendants. I also used digital images from Designer Digitals (printed them onto the card catalog cards). Progress!

Despite all this progress, I am still behind. I need to remind myself of something I always tell my daughter,

See life as a half full glass rather than half empty!

In other words, be grateful for the progress made this week and NOT focus on what remains to be done.

Mini Embroidery Hoop Pendants and Vintage Embroidered Linens

Inspiration can be found almost anywhere.

My favorites are Pinterest, Instagram and Stampinton & Company publications.

While on Pinterest I saw mini embroidery hoops pendants. I found beautiful mini works of art inside mini embroidery hoops. I was immediately inspired! I did a search to find the supplier of these little embroidery hoops. So happy when I found Sonia and her husband, the team of Dandelyne who create these mini embroidery hoops.

Dandelyne is based in Australia. Visit the website and learn the story of these wonderful mini embroidery hoops which are little works of art on their own. The craftsmanship is excellent! I just love them!

I found another way to repurposed vintage embroidered linens!

Back in January, I placed a huge order ( huge for me) because I knew exactly what I was going to create inside these hoops. A week ago I started to create new items for upcoming shows in May. I am so happy I started with Dandelyne's mini embroidery hoops.

If you follow my blog or know me, then you know I love miniatures! I love houses and more recently, love working with camping trailers/Airstreams. I have plans to create fun new tea towels incorporating all these design elements along with free form stitching.

Creating mini designs with my sewing machine requires patience and a steady hand. The final results make me happy!

After creating a few mini embroidery hoops, I placed another order with Sonia of Dandelyne for more mini embroidery hoops! This is a big investment for me and a leap of faith as I hope these mini embroidered pendants are well received at upcoming shows in May.

Vintage Inspired Easter & St. Patrick PaperArt

The Pink Attic Cat, located at 5784 S. Rapp in downtown Littleton will be open tomorrow and Saturday 10 to 5. On Saturday, Amy will have a Create class from noon to 4. The Create class cost is $20 and it includes all materials to create an array of different projects, as well as snacks and drinks. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to Amy K. (owner of the Pink Attic Cat) at 303-797-4474.
My plan was to only create a few examples of what can be created during this Create class. I am in the middle of data entry for Isa Creations for 2015 (I've got most of my sales receipts spreadsheets done). I am also currently working with a friend on creating a 6th grade memory book that follows this class from kindergarten through 6th grade (Amy S. and I both have kids in the 6th grade). I also work as a substitute teacher at the elementary school alongside with teaching Spanish on Wednesdays after school. My plate is full.
A few weeks ago, I put myself on a timeout. No creating for Isa Creations until my books for Isa Creations for 2015 is complete. I tried, I really did.
When I started to create just a few samples, I was creating for the Pink Attic Cat NOT Isa Creations. I guess you can say I found a loophole.
I did not realize how much I missed creating until I started to work on these samples. I was having so much fun, I did not want to stop. So as you will see, I created many samples. Tomorrow I will spend the morning with more data entry than go to the Pink Attic Cat for a few hours. I will help Amy K. all day Saturday at the Pink Attic Cat. This is me trying to find a balance between all my commitments. I have to admit, I am tired and struggling to find a balance.
So now for the fun part. I am not sure what to call my latest creations but here they are.

Sweet Valentine...

Despite feeling under the weather with a cold, it was fun to be a part of the Pink Attic Cat's pop up event this past week. Saturday, customers enjoyed creating sweet Valentines using many wonderful create supplies provided by Amy, owner of the Pink Attic Cat in downtown Littleton.

Vintage Hexagon Quilt Pieces Re-purposed (Part 2 of 2) & For the Love of Vintage at the Pink Attic Cat

I continue with more photos of my newest re-purposed items.

Love working with the Hexagon Quilt Pieces I found at an estate sale last summer (2015). Re-purposed these vintage gems into functional and decorative kitchen towels. All towels are 100% cotton and created using vintage trim.

Also, a reminder of my friend Amy's Pop up event at the Pink Attic Cat tomorrow, Thursday through Saturday.

 

I highly recommend attending the CreativiTea. Amy gives everyone access to a great assortment of wonderful vintage materials to create something special. I will be helping out at the shop. I love to watching Amy's customer's create wonderful one of a kind items, just in time for Valentine's Day.

This one is a bit different than the others. I used a vintage embroidered pillow case and re-purposed it into a kitchen towel. This is one of my favorites, perhaps became I remain drawn to hand embroidery and butterflies.

 

January was a good productive month!

I have also been working on my basement Studio space. I have been de-cluttering. Trust me, that has been quit a challenge. That project is still in progress but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am pleased with the results so far.

 

Lots of old scrapbook papers and stamps have found new homes with several of my creative friends, including the Art class at my neighborhood elementary school where I work as a substitute teacher.

After I get my Isa Creations books all taken care of, I plan to continue to work on more vintage quilt pieces. Including a large stash of square quilt pieces I found during the summer of 2014 during a trip to my hometown of El Paso, Texas. This find is special to me because my sister and Robert's sister Bea went with me to an estate sale in the Rio Grande Valley. I see these square quilt pieces becoming houses and roofs (maybe even a camper) in the future.
