Sweet William Market Highlights

We had really nice weather at Sweet William Market.  The market was a bit slow, especially in the afternoon, but at least I got to visit with my friend Staci who had the booth next to me.  My daughter Laura also got more comfortable with checking out customers on her own.  Although she would rather handle the credit card sales than the cash sales.  As she will tell you herself, math and her are not friends!

Halloween House III

Hopefully the weather today will be good since I will be at Sweet William Market today.  Laura will be with me to help me at my booth.  My friend Staci will also be at Sweet William Market, hopefully, her booth is next to mine.  It will be great if both our booths are next to each other.  Normally, Staci and I share booths but there are many markets that do not allow sharing of booths...Sweet William Market is one of them.   The last time Staci and I were at the same show at the same time was in March!

I managed to create 4 more mix media Halloween Houses.  I took photos but have not downloaded them yet.  I will take them to the market with me today.  I will post photos of those houses in later postings. Here are closeup photos of the third house:

Halloween House II & Sweet William Market

Tomorrow I will be at Sweet William Market.  It's located at Founders Green, Stapleton: 29^th & Syracuse right in the heart of the Stapleton Neighborhood at the base of the 29^th Avenue Town Center.

At this show, I will have some new Halloween items.  I will have my new Halloween paper dresses and several mix media Halloween Houses.  I created new up-cycled decorative stands to place the Halloween Houses.

Sweet William Market May 26, 2012

Sweet William Market was an important learning experience for me.  First of all, setting up a canopy for an outdoor market booth  for the first time was not easy at all (most stressful part of my day).  Thankfully, other vendors near me came to the rescue...thank you!   I picked up some pointers so next time I hope we will be able to get the canopy up on our own (fingers crossed).  My daughter Laura was an exceptionally great help...thank you Laura!

I missed Staci, this is my first show without her.  Due to scheduling conflicts, this summer we will do a few shows together (share booth), others where our booths will be next to each other (show does not allow booth sharing) and some where it is just one of us like this past week at Sweet William Market.  The market was a little slow but did pick up a little into the late morning....then, the notorious Denver winds showed up!  Oh my, it got windy very quickly!  Thank goodness for the  15lb weights (for each post) my hubby got for me so at least my canopy was secure...can't say the same for all my displays.  The vintage embroidered birds took flight!  Thankfully no damage, just a little frazzled.   It was great to have Lisa, Sophie and Sherril (yep, three generations!) come visit our booth...they helped keep some of the displays safe from the wind!  As usual, took lots of pictures of my booth.  If you want to see all the photos I took, you can see them on Flickr...Sweet William Market Set.

Vintage Muffin Tins, Tart Tin & Jell-O Organizers

I finally got around to altering the vintage muffin tins, tart tins and Jell-0 molds I have found at recent estate sales.  The tart tins and jell-0 molds are generally in really good condition.  But the muffin tins are not, which is why I take time to properly wash them, primed them and add  paint.  Light sanding gives my new organizers a distressed look.

Today I will be a vendor (my first time) at Sweet William Market...I am so excited, really looking forward to this new experience!  Sweet William Market is what gave me a reason to work extra hard to get these vintage organizers done.  Then I thought, what if potential customers see the "organizers" but don't really know their purpose?  So, I gathered  my personal stash of vintage findings and placed them in these little up-cycled organizers so customers can see their full potential. I am pleased with the results...although, I did have to create handmade tags stating that the purchase price was just for the organizer and it does not include the contents.
