Old House Vintage Market May 2016

Can't believe summer break is almost over. Alex will go start middle school in a few weeks (7th) grade. Laura will return to CSU in Ft. Collins in a few weeks. Today Laura had her tonsils removed so she will be home recovering before returning to the busy college life. While we sit in the waiting room, I thought it would be a good opportunity to blog.

Blogging this summer has been a challenge. Since my last post ( it's been a while) I traveled to Texas twice. First trip was to El Paso where I spent time with my parents, my sister, family and friends. I was home only a few weeks and it was time to travel again. The second trip was a family road trip to Texas.

When we took our car in for service before the trip, we learned it has several small leaks that could not be taken care in the time the car was in for service. We quickly made a reservation for a rental car and we were on our way.

This summer we started our trip with a few days at the beach and pier fishing in San Padre Island, near Corpus Christi. Our next stop was a few days with my mother in law in Austin where we spent time with the entire Wagner family. Before we left Austin, our dear friends - Alan and Tina- came from Houston to spend an afternoon with us. Our last stop was San Antonio where we had breakfast with our former next door neighbor and dear friend, Cindy. We spent a few days with June (who is my surrogate sister) and her husband David.

I came home inspired full of ideas after spending time in June's home studio. MORE on that later. Although if you want to see a preview of that, visit my Instagram page (IsaCreationsVintage).

In an effort to catch up on my blog posts, let's go back to May - Old House Vintage Market. It's a new market in Golden,Co. It was a fun market at a lovely park where the weather was perfect! After having two markets with miserable cold (wet for one of those markets), it was wonderful to have a warm sunny day. My friend Lisa was there to help me at this market:)

I am also happy to share I will be a vendor at the next Old a House Vintage Market in September!

Although I have done very little blogging this summer, I have been busy creating many new items for upcoming markets in September starting with A Paris Street Market in Aspen Grove and Old House Vintage Market. I look forward to sharing my new items in future blog posts.
Here are photos of my booth from Old House Vintage Market in May. the market organizer, Bernadette is a wonderful organizer. She provided all her vendors with complimentary coffee and breakfast burritos - all very much appreciated. We had space to "spill out", which is great when you are a vendor. I look forward to being a vendor at all her future markets.

Valverde Bazaar May 2016

I am currently visiting my family in El Paso, Texas. My sister is next to me reading. We are just hanging out, much like when we were kids.

This post will have photos of my booth at Valverde Bazaar in Denver. Although the forecast indicated a good chance of rain, we were lucky. It did not rain. However, it was unusually COLD!

Definitely a rough start to my market season with the 2nd market in a row with no sunshine:(

I had one week to restock on my new Camper tea towels for Valverde Bazzar. Here is a picture of those new tea towels in progress.

During the week between A Paris Street Market and Valverde Bazaar something really nice happened. RJR fabrics liked my camper tea towels on Instagram (IsaCreationsVintage) posted a few weeks earlier. They sent me fabric from a new line, One Room Schoolhouse. I only had time to work with a small portion of the fabrics. I created 4 new camper tea towels using RJR's One Room Schoolhouse in Teal and Rose.

Here is closeup photos of the camper tea towels using RJR fabric -One Room Schoolhouse. As of today, they are all SOLD:). Last week I received a new fabric line from RJR fabrics - Everything But the Kitchen Sink. When I return home from El Paso I plan to create more Camper Tea Towels, among other things with that fabric line.

A Paris Street Market, May 2nd, 2015

It is now Tuesday and I am must getting to posting pictures from last Saturday's, A Paris Street Market. 

Worried the week before about the rain forecast for Saturday May 2nd...

Sunny skies with occasionally cloudy skies but NO RAIN!  At least not during the market hours!

Great day at the market!

Thanks to everyone who came and helped me have a successful day!

I want to especially thank my dear friend, Lisa Iannacito who came by after working all night at the hospital.  She is a nurse, who like me, loves all things vintage.  She came early in the morning to hang out and help me at the market. 

With my daughter Laura getting ready to graduatte high school, I missed having her helping me at the market.  Laura has been my helper for several years.  I will have to get use to doing the markets without her since she will be going away to college this August!

I am grateful my husband and son Alex (age 11) woke up at dawn (not kidding) to help me setup at A Paris Street Market.   My daughter, Laura, did come help me at the end of the day after she was done with her volunteer hours to full-fill her National Honor Society requirements.  I appreciate her coming at the end of the day to  help me pack up my booth.  Especially since that is when I am feeling pretty exhausted.   I will really miss seeing her everyday this coming August when she goes away to school.

Sunday, my son Alex and I had a movie date.  We went to see the Avenger's Movie.  I think I enjoyed watching his reaction to all the movie previews the most!  He could barely contain his enthusiasm when we saw previews for Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Batman vs. Superman!  I promised him we would see them all!

Monday, most of my day was spent working on the announcement card for Laura's graduation.  On one side I have pictures of her from 1st through 12th grade.  It took time to gather the photos and scan the school pictures but it was well worth the time and effort.  The front of the card has a photo of her in Kindergarten along with her Senior picture.  Thanks to Sam's Club, I was able to have everything printed the same day.  I was up till 1 a.m. addressing all the graduation announcements. They were all mailed early this morning.

Today, I spent time helping my friend Amy at her shop, The Pink Attic Cat.

A Paris Street Market Booth -Saturday May 3rd

This past Saturday, I had many firsts at A Paris Street Market in Aspen Grove.

First time I had to rent a U-Haul van to take all my stuff to the market since we no longer have the Ford Excursion and still dealing with insurance on a replacement vehicle (rollover accident on the Excursion over Spring Break March 22nd). 

Thankfully, my friend Lisa was able to drive me to pick up the U-haul van and helped me load it up at home while Alex, David and Laura were at the school (GRE Elementary) carnival Friday evening.  Laura was volunteering (needed the hours to fulfill her Honor Society community service hours). 

Since Laura was taking a practice AP test on Saturday, she was not able to help me at the market like she has in the past.  David, my husband, came with me and helped me unload and setup the booth.  He left around 8:00 a.m. so he could be home with Alex and Laura could leave for her test.    Thankfully, my friend Lisa came late morning to help me.  With Lisa there, I was able to take a needed bathroom break and she went and got us both lunch.  It's great to have a friend at the show!  Laura came to the show the last hour, she helped me pack up my booth.  Around 4 p.m. David and Alex came over and helped me load the U-Haul van.  Usually, at A Paris Street Market it just Laura and me...this time with was the entire family.  Very grateful for their help.  Lisa is like family so she I include her in thanking my family for all their help.

I want to thank all the lovely ladies who shopped at my booth. My new vintage illustration altered dominoes were very well received.  I appreciate all the positive feedback!  Thank you to everyone who came to support all of us at A Paris Street Market!
